Top Ten 2019 Video Games that I am anxious to Play

 

2018 left us with a lot of fun games from Spiderman to Red Dead Redemption. As the new year approaches, it leaves me wondering what games are in store for us in 2019? Here is my list of the top ten 2019 games that I am anxious to play.

Let’s get started!

10. Rage 2

This game is set to be released May 14, 2019, on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Rage is a first-person shooter in a post-apocalyptic world. Rage 2 takes place 30 years after the first game. We will take up the mantle of the last ranger, Walker. This is an open world game where players will be able to create their own character version of Walker. After an asteroid hit the world, it is now filled with dangerous mutants. Walker must survive in the chaotic aftermath.

 

9. Far Cry:  New Dawn

Far Cry:  New Dawn is a first-person shooter game set to be released February 15, 2019. The game takes place seventeen years after the events of Far Cry 5 in Hope County, Montana. Players will be able to create their own character to recruit survivors and animals to help them on missions. Survivors attempt to rebuild a community but are constantly being threatened by the Highwaymen led by twin sisters, Micky and Lou. The players will travel through the open world game to liberate settlements from the Highwaymen.

8. Anthem

Anthem is set to be released February 22, 2019, on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. This is an online multiplayer game featuring single-player and cooperative elements. It is a third-person shooter in an open world setting that can be shared with up to three players. Players play a Freelancer wearing exosuits called Javelins. These suits are customizable with abilities and weapons. Freelancers are a group of people that leave their civilization to explore the surrounding landscape. These explorers meet at Fort Tarsis to pick up new missions.

7. Resident Evil 2 Remake

Resident Evil 2 is set to be released January 25, 2019, on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. This is a remake of the original survival horror game from 1998. Leon S. Kennedy is a rookie police officer, and Claire Redfield is a college student. Both attempt to escape the breakout of zombies in Raccoon City. Resident Evil 2 is a third-person shooter game. The gameplay has been compared to be similar to Resident Evil 4.

6. Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus is set to release February 15, 2019, on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. This is the third installment in the Metro video game series. The games are based on Dmitry Glukhovsky’s novels. Metro Exodus is a first-person shooter survival horror game. The story takes place two years after the events of Metro:  Last Light. Metro Exodus is set in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the former Russian Federation.  Players take up the mantle of Artyom, a 23-year-old who fled the Metro in Moscow. Artyom sets off on a journey with the Spartan Rangers. Players will have to endure new hazards and combating mutated creatures along with unfriendly humans. Metro Exodus will feature a weather system, a day-night cycle, and seasonal changes in the environment.

5. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is set to release sometime in 2019. Not many details have been released about the game. It is a Nintendo Switch exclusive. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will be 4 player co-op couch and online. The characters available in this are Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, Captian America, Thor, Hulk, Spiderman, Wolverine, Scarlet Witch and several more. Players will be facing off with none other than Thanos and the Black Order. Check out the trailer!

 

4. Gears 5

Gears of War 5

Gears 5 is a third-person-shooter set to release sometime in 2019. The game is a Microsoft exclusive. Players will be able to play Gears 5 in single-player, split-screen co-op or online co-op. In Gears 5, players will take up the mantle of Kait, an Outsider of Locust descent. The game dives into discovering the origins of the Locust and Kait’s family.

3. Kingdom Hearts III

Kingdom Hearts III is a single player game set to release on January 29, 2019, on Xbox and PlayStation. This is the twelfth installment in the Kingdom Hearts series. The story takes place after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D:  Deam Drop Distance. Kingdom Hearts III is to be the final chapter in the Dark Seeker saga. Sora is returning as the protagonist of Kingdom Hearts. He is joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey, and Riku. Players are searching for the seven Guardians of Light and the “Key to Return Hearts” as they must stop Master Xehanort and his plan to start the second Keyblade War.

2. Skull and Bones

Skull & Bones is a third-person open-world tactical action game that is set to be released sometime in 2019 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Players will dive into a game of piracy and naval warfare. You will be able to customize your own pirate captain. Players will have several choices on how to play. They can set sail in a single-player campaign across the Indian Ocean or sail the seas with up to five other players to ally or battle in Disputed Waters.

The Outer Worlds

The Outer Worlds is a first-person action role-playing game set to be released sometime in 2019, on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Outer Worlds is set in the future where megacorporations have begun colonizing planets. Players awaken from cryosleep to learn that their colony’s ship has gone astray. The ship crashed at the edge of the colony space. Their colony has had been abandoned until a mysterious man wakes only you up. Players create their own characters and begin their journey to a nearby colony. Outer Worlds has several factions and branching stories that react to choices made in the game. Players can interact and recruit different NPCs. Each NPC has their own objectives and personalities.
